What is PFP Fabric (Prepared For Print)?

PFP stands for Prepared For Print – a term used for textiles pre-treated to serve as the perfect blank canvas for printing (especially dye-sublimation fabrics). These fabrics undergo special bleaching and finishing processes to create a smooth, consistent white surface (often called PFP white) that readily accepts ink.

In other words, a PFP fabric is essentially sublimation ready fabric: it requires no additional prep before printing, allowing dye-sublimation inks to bond directly with the fibers for optimal results.

For best results, PFP textiles are made of polyester. Most are either a polyester PFP fabric (100% poly) or a poly-spandex blend (stretch PFP fabric).
